ARTICLE I

ANIMALS: GENERAL

Sec. 4-1.  Impoundment of strays.

It shall be unlawful for any animal or fowl to run at large within the City of Vienna, or in any of the streets, alleys or ways thereof, or on the private property or premises of any person not the owner of such animals or fowl against the consent of the owner of such private property.  (§2519.119, 1978 Code; As amended by adopting ordinance dated July 7, 1992)

ARTICLE II

DOGS

Sec. 4-7.  Dogs running at large prohibited.

It is hereby declared unlawful for any dog or dogs to run at large within the corporate limits of the city and any dog and every dog found within the city not upon the property of the owner or keeper is hereby declared to be a nuisance.  (§2519.325, 1978 Code; As amended by adopting ordinance dated July 7, 1992)

Sec. 4-8.  Control of dogs within the City.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any owner (as defined by §578.005(8) RSMo) of any dog to allow such dog to leave the premises of the owner unless the dog is securely led or tied by a line or leash of no more than six feet in length.

(b) Any person convicted of a violation of subsection

(a) shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50.00 for the 1st offense or $100.00 for a 2nd and subsequent offenses.  (Ord. 44, §§1-2)
