HEALTH

ARTICLE I

BOARD CREATED; DEFINITIONS

Sec. 12-1.  Board created.

(a) There is hereby created the board of health of the City of Vienna, to be composed of one resident physician and one member of the board of aldermen to be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the board of aldermen, for a term of two years, and until their successors are appointed and qualified, and the mayor shall be ex-offico member of the board.

(b) For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of Chapter 12 of this Code the mayor may, at the same time he selects the committees designated in Section 2-30 of this Code, appoint the members of the board of health of the City of Vienna.  (§703.005, 1978 Code)

Sec. 12-5. Compensation.

The members of the board of health shall receive as compensation any amount determined by the board of aldermen, payable out of the general revenue of the city.  (§703.109, 1978 Code; As amended by adopting ordinance dated July 7, 1992)

Sec. 12-6. Vacancies.

In case of a vacancy in the board the same shall be filled by appointment by the mayor with the approval of the board of aldermen.  (§703.111, 1978 Code)

Said board shall have power to adopt rules and regulations for its government, not in conflict with law or ordinance.  (§703.205, 1978 Code)
