MRPC, City of Rolla host ‘Inside City Government’ Workshop Seating still available

ST. JAMES—Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) and the city of Rolla are teaming up to offer a workshop for those interested in learning about city governments, and seats remain available for those interested.

The workshop, which will include information on city council, planning and zoning commission and board of adjustment duties and responsibilities, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2015, at The Centre, 1200 Holloway Street, in Rolla. There is a $20 registration fee to attend.

Speakers include attorneys Paul Rost and Erin Steele of Cunningham, Vogel and Rost, a Missouri law firm formed specifically to represent only municipalities and local government interests.

Formed in 1969, MRPC is a voluntary council of governments serving Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties and their respective cities. A professional staff of 21, directed by the MRPC board, offers technical assistance and services, such as grant preparation and administration, housing assistance, transportation planning, environmental planning, ordinance codification, business loans and other services to member communities.
