The Gasconade Valley Enterprise Zone Board will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Maries County Bank, Highway 63, Vienna, Mo.

Staff will update the board on events since the December meeting. Items include:

- Board Appointments and Election of Officers—Bonnie Prigge
Letters were sent to the counties in January, and at this mailing only one has been returned. Those persons whose terms expire in 2010 are Jim Decker, Gasconade County (reappointed) ; Ray Schwartze, Maries County; Byron Baker, Osage County.. At the December meeting, the president appointed a nominating committee of Russell Scheulen, Les Clark and Jerry Lairmore. Current officers—with the exception of the treasurer— are eligible to serve another term in their current officer. This committee will recommend a slate of officers and nominations will be accepted from the floor.
- Update on Enhanced Enterprise Zone Applications—Bonnie Prigge
Maries, Osage and Gasconade counties have EEZ applications in process. These applications are being covered by GVEZ on behalf of its counties. Bonnie will provide an update.
- Discussion on bringing EEZs into GVEZ—Bonnie Prigge
To maximize the new EEZs effectiveness and ensure proper reporting, GVEZ has discussed bring those boards under the umbrella of GVEZ. One of the biggest benefits would be the joint marketing opportunities. Bringing the EEZs under the GVEZ umbrella would require some bylaws changes, if the groups are agreeable. This will be further discussed and bylaws changes considered, such as a different size board, different board make up and different term limits.
