Grant application information workshop offered Feb. 22 in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Office of Homeland Security and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency are offering training for FY 2012 Homeland Security grant applications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Truman Hotel, 1510 Jefferson Street in Jefferson City.

Those entities who plan to apply for 2012 grants are strongly encouraged to send a representative to this four-hour training, which is offered free of charge.

The workshop will provide regional, local, state and non-governmental organizations with details for grant opportunities available and financial information. The workshop will allow the Office of Homeland Security grant specialist an opportunity to visit one-on-one with potential sub-recipients of the Homeland Security grants and review the grant information and answer questions. The workshop also gives participants the opportunity to ask questions regarding other open grants.

Pre-registration is requested to ensure adequate materials and for lunch planning. Persons interested in participating should visit http://training.dps.mo.gov/sematraining.nsf/TrainingSchedule?OpenForm to register for the course. Deadline for registration is Feb. 17. For more information on the workshop, contact Joni Botkins, OHS, at 573-526-9020.
