MRPC to Host August 26 Open House of Newly Remodeled Cuba Home
Homeownership programs assist income-eligible, first-time home buyers

CUBA—Owning your own home is a part of the American dream, and homeownership programs operated by Meramec Regional Planning Commission and Meramec Community Enhancement Corp. can certainly help that dream become a reality. Since the mid-1990s, MRPC and its nonprofit counterpart—MCEC—have been buying properties in need of repair, renovating them and selling them to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers.

One of those properties is two-bedroom bungalow in Cuba, and is now ready for showing. MRPC will host an open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 204 Mapleshade in Cuba. The public and prospective homeowners are encouraged to drop by and tour the home.

While buyers must secure their own financing, MRPC can provide up to $4,000 to an eligible homebuyer for down payment and closing costs.

For more information on the Cuba home and MRPC’s homeownership program, persons can contact Chuck Cantrell at MRPC at (573) 265-2993.
