March 13, 2007 MRPC HONORS OUTGOING BOARD MEMBER
ST. JAMES—The board of Meramec Regional Planning Commission honored Steve Mueller of Hermann for his service to the board during the group’s March 8 meeting. Mueller was city administrator of Hermann until he stepped down March 5. He had represented the northern Gasconade County city on the MRPC board from March 2005 until March 2007. Mueller told his fellow board members that he was proud and honored to be involved with MRPC. He said that without the support of board members and the support of MRPC, many projects in Hermann would not have happened. He cited the Highway 100 bridge as an example. J.D. Lester has been hired to replace Mueller as city administrator. Mueller will continue to assist the city of Hermann with specific projects on a part-time basis. Formed in 1969, MRPC is a voluntary council of governments serving Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties and their respective cities. A professional staff of 24, directed by the 52-member MRPC board, offers technical assistance and services, such as grant preparation and administration, housing assistance, transportation planning, environmental planning, ordinance codification, business loans and other services to member communities.
