ST. JAMES CHAMBER, COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PLAN COMMUNITY FOCUS MEETINGS
First is April 11 at MRPC
ST. JAMES—The St. James Chamber of Commerce and the St. James Community Foundation will be holding three meetings to develop a Community Focus Report for the St. James community, announced Candace Connell of Meramec Regional Planning Commission, who will be assisting with the meetings.
The first of three meetings will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on April 11 at MRPC, 4 Industrial Drive in St. James. Community leaders are encouraged to attend.
The report, which will build on planning information developed previously, will look at what's going well in St. James and identify areas for improvement. The group will discuss business and economic conditions, community health, early childhood education, public order and safety, housing, transportation, citizen participation, arts and culture, recreation, sports and leisure and natural environment during the course of the three meetings.
In addition to developing a community report, the chamber and community foundation plan to develop their own individual organization strategic/business plans from the information, which will provide direction to each group for several years to come.
MRPC, with financial assistance from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, will be facilitating the meetings and preparing the Community Focus Report.
Persons needing more information may call Connell or Connie Willman at (573) 265-2993.
